Latino artists are finally getting recognized and paving the way for future generations to come. This year the smashing hit “Despacito” by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee featuring Justin Bieber is nominated for Song of the Year. The track made music history and dominated the music charts for several weeks.
Another Latina who is also making music headlines is “Cardi B” her song “Bodak Yellow” skyrocketed to number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This year she is also nominated for Best Female Rap Artist.
We are happy that the Recording Academy is finally recognizing the hard work of these talented Latino artists. Congratulations to all the nominees this year and let’s keep our fingers crossed for our favorite artists to win.
Today at work was not what you could call a typical day. Between my coworkers we started gossiping about the Grammy’s and who won what award and who dressed better. What completely got me going was when we started taking about the thirty-three people that got married at the Grammy’s. One of my co workers totally went on a tangent of its own by arguing against gay marriage. My coworker definitely got a piece of my mind since I was arguing in favor of gay marriage. I can’t believe that we are in 2014 and people are still so narrow minded. I almost got into a serious fight with my coworker today. I was trying to open his eyes I think everything he was talking about was not making sense at all. His sexist personally was totally taking over him. After a while of arguing we did not ended up comprehending each other since my coworker is a lost case. After the argument I immediately starting thinking about a famous quote by a great Author Paulo Coelho in which he says “Don’t waste your time in Explanations. People only hear what they want to hear.” My coworker is totally a lost case but nobody can win me on such a sensitive subject. I totally gave him a piece of my mind and did not shut up until I got my point crossed. I still feel very upset about the whole situation that’s why I decided to shared it with everybody. I know people will have different ways of thinking, but come on let’s not be so narrow minded. I think people should open up more and get out of their comfort zone. I don’t know if you guys feel the same way, but these are just my personal ideas.
